The cinema is accessible for wheelchair users thanks to a lift. However, in Screen 1 there are three steps. Screen 2 is fully accessible. |

The ACUD Cinema was awarded a prize by the Federal Government
Commission for Culture and Media (formerly BMI), for an outstanding
film programme in the years 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2002,
and also received a mention in 1998. In 2000 we received a prize for
an outstanding documentary film programme and in 2001, for our
engagement with short films, we received a prize for our outstanding
short film programme. In 2002, 2003, and 2005 this engagement with
short and documentary film was also awarded.
On the recommendation of the jury of the "Cinema Programming Prize, Berlin-Brandenburg" we received an award for our outstanding film programming for the years 1999 and 2006. In 2002 the DEFA- foundation awarded the ACUD Cinema a programming prize for the "conscious work with young German and European film, which makes up more than 80% of the programme". ... and we are determined to carry on this tradition! |

ACUD Cinema is a member of the AG Kino, the guild of German film theatres. The AG Kino has existed since 1972 as a network of politically involved and commercially independent cinemas from the whole of Germany. At present 178 cinemas with 267 screens are members of the AG Kino,
furthermore 29 distributors, organisations, individuals and businesses
support the society as associate members. The AG Kino has had permanent
offices in Berlin since 2000. |
